Zone_V2_ : Unstable Media _International Conference

Zone_V2_: Unstable Media International Conference

Dates:
Aug. 11-12, 2007

Venue: Taipei Artists' Village

The development of Contemporary Art in the 20th century displays an overlapping of domains and aesthetic trends.  Not only is there a constant dialogue between the domains of science, philosophy, aesthetics of living, cultural studies, etc., but under the influence of a world wide internet system, technology has become an indispensable tool in the lives of people today.  With new artistic trends, the movement of a computer's mouse is replacing the stroke of a paintbrush just as the motion-picture screen is replacing the painter's canvas.

Accompanying the Zone_V2 exhibition, MOCA Taipei has organized a two-day international conference on August 11-12 with invited curator Alex Adriaansens, who is also the director of V2_Institute for the Unstable Media (NL), as well as artists, curators, and art critics from Japan, Europe, America, Taiwan, etc.  In a series of presentations and panel discussions, they will analyze the relationship between media
