1983年生於臺北,畢業於國立臺北藝術大學新媒體藝術研究所。機械裝置、「光」是其創作中慣用之媒材,作品長期關注於空間與時間中之結構與對應關係,並純粹的去回應所處空間下的自然狀態,同時透過對「光」的處理手法,擴張出包含對溫度、濕度、觸覺、動能中,與觀者自身的身體、記憶之關係。
Born in Taipei in 1983, and graduated from the Graduate School of New Media Art, Taipei National University of the Arts. He has been using mechanical installation and light to create his work, which focuses on the structure and corresponding relationship between space and time, and purely responds to the natural state of the surrounding space. His interpretation of light also delineates the relationship between the viewer’s body and memory that engage the aspects of temperature, humidity, tactility and kinetic energy.
1988年生於高雄,畢業於國立臺北藝術大學新媒體藝術研究所。擅長實驗動畫、複合媒材與動力裝置,並從自身家庭背景、身份延伸至創作,關注農業、自然、人與環境間彼此共存卻緊張的關係。近年因對於性別議題的關注,進而組織策劃「多元成展」計劃,試圖在創作、藝術與展覽間,尋找延續對話的可能。
Born in Kaohsiung in 1988, and graduated from the Graduate School of New Media Art, Taipei National University of the Arts. His work often employs experimental animation and mixed media kinetic installations, incorporating artist’s background and identity. His themes often include agriculture, nature and the coexistence of human beings with our environment. Responding to gender issues that have accentuated over the years, he organized a project Coexist + Exhibition, searching for different possibilities of dialogue through curation and art production.
1979年生於高雄,畢業於國立臺北藝術大學科技藝術研究所(現更名為新媒體藝術研究所),目前居住於臺北。其作品透過不同的媒材形式,創造出一種詩意兼具情境式的獨特語彙,長期關注於環境與內心歸屬感的消逝與飄盪的精神狀態,並透過不存在的狀態去顯現對生命本質的探索。作品《入侵》曾代表臺灣參加2005威尼斯雙年展臺灣館,為歷年來最年輕的參展藝術家,作品持續獲邀於各國展出。
Born in Kaohsiung in 1979, and graduated from the Graduate School of New Media Art, Taipei National University of the Arts. Lives and works in Taipei. Through multiple media, including new media, installation, and video, he developed an unique poetic artistic language in his creation. He specially interested in floating state of human spirit and keeps searching for the disappearing belongingness in modern environment. In the status of non-existence, he attempts to explore the essence of life. In 2005, KUO was the youngest artist ever to represent Taiwan in the Venice Biennial. His work has been constantly invited to various international exhibitions in recent years.
