Ling-Li Tseng is Assistant Professor at the Graduate Institute of Architecture, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, and co-founder of Serendipity Studio. She holds an M.Arch II from The Cooper Union, and an M.Des from Harvard University. Before returning to Taiwan, she was a designer and maker at the Heatherwick Studio. Tseng’s practice bridges sciences and arts, as well as daydreaming and practicality. Endeavoring in producing inspiring public aesthetics, she excels at creating experience-centered spaces and installations.
LOUDLY LIGHTNING was founded in 2017. It is an artist collective known for their clever use of materials, passion for music, and their devoted pursuit of space and self-exploration. Their representative work is the series of An Electronic Monster. Members of the art group include Yao Chung-Han, Tseng Jui-Pin, and Chang Ling-Wei. Among them, Yao is a musician, DJ, and Associate Professor at the Department of Architecture, Shih Chien University.
Kou Tak-Leong was born in Macau. He graduated from the Department of Architecture Design, Shih Chien University, and holds an MFA in new media art from the Taipei National University of the Arts. He excels at delineating a space with in-situ installations, creating collisions through utilizing structural characteristics of media and spatial elements. Known for his re-interpretation of everyday space in an unusual, fragmentary way, his work sublimates the functionality of space, and transforms people’s experience of quotidian urban space to engender fresh imagination.
Initial Complex was founded by Hsieh Yu-Cheng and Wang Chung-Yuan in 2021. Their trainings range from new media, spatial experimentation, and theater. Initial Complex’s practice involves three aspects, namely, “initial,” “organic,” and “mechanism”—by re-examining “initial” sites, they seek “organic” qualities of these sites to bestow a new layer of imagination, while introducing to the audience a fresh perspective that counters existing “mechanisms.”
HwH project is an art group established by Cheng Jen-Hsiang, Yeh Wei-Cheng, and Huang Yen-Hsiang, who became acquainted at work. Cheng, Yeh, and Huang all attended National Chiao Tung University: Cheng graduated from the Institute of Computer Science and Engineering, and is the interactive design engineer in the group. Yeh holds an MS in Architecture, and is the installation mechanical designer in the group. Huang graduated from the Institute of Applied Arts, majoring in industrial design, and serves as the kinetic installation designer in the group.
Chiu-Hao Chen is co-founder of JIC Media Group. He holds an MA in Interactive Telecommunication from New York University, and specializes in bringing together technology and creativity by x embedding technologies contrarily into commercial products. He used to work at the creative consultancy – Frog Design, and had worked on the creation of the equipment for Iron Man at Disney Connected and Advanced Technologies (DCAT). In recent years, he has been active in participating in major cultural exhibitions to promote the diverse aspects of interactive technology.
9 grid design is chaired by Chen Hsuan Ming and Huang Atz. Their practice primarily engages in four aspects: visual creation, spatial display design, project management, and cultural assets. In recent years, they have been known for their works featuring large-scale projection of motion images.
Zhi is now Artistic Director of the Swedish visual studio, NMBRS STUDIO. He excels at artistic creation of 3D video and animation, with a preference of utilizing realistic sci-fi codes. He used to work at Taiwanese concert production companies for many years, and knows various visual media and structural relations by heart.
Walking Grass Agriculture was founded in 2015 by Chen Han-Sheng and Liu Hsing-Yu, who were born respectively in Dashe and Jiaxian, Kaohsiung. They specialize in kinetic installation, curating, design, and educational outreach. Interested in issues related to ecological environment, gender, and agriculture, they have launched the Coexist Exhibition and the Farming & Arts Festival.
