The Chance Operation exhibition is a solo show by artist Hyewon Kwon, who is based in Seoul, South Korea. The artist observes the way the world is perceived by humans with keen insight, capturing how new narratives are formed through the intervention of non-human elements like machinery and AI, and how this affects human understanding of the world. The exhibition is divided into three realms, forming a unified worldview: Recto, Verso, Inframince. Recto represents the visible world, Verso the cosmic dimension beyond the visible, and Inframince the intermediate realm between Recto and Verso, where non-human intervention occurs on a nano-scale and in an accidental manner. The artist presents the essence of each of these three realms through four pieces of artwork.
